DUQUESNE QUALIFIES FOR A-10 TOURNAMENT

   Former Ohio Schoolgirl Players Make an Impact in NCAC

    

       Thirty-five former Ohio Schoolgirl players dot the rosters of NCAC schools for 2007.  The Denison Big Red are the defending NCAC Champions having won their 15th title in 2006.

Listed below are Ohio NCAC Players and their teams.  The Wittenberg Tigers top the list with 13 Ohio players.

OU Names Captains for '06

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Head Lacrosse Coach Allison Valentino has announced that four players will serve as team captains for the 2006 season -- senior Allison Brennan (Annandale, Va.), junior Dana Debbie (Guelph, Ontario), sophomore Kari Fasick (Marriottsville, Md.) and sophomore Lindsey Marshall (Hilliard, Ohio).

Marshall played in five games last season on defense. She was credited with five ground balls and one caused turnover.

Other former OSLA players that will be helping the Bobcats in 2006 include, Jen Ator, So. (Hudson),

Danielle Hale, Fr. (Magnificat),  Melanie Klein, Fr. (Sycamore), Meredith Post, Fr. (Sycamore),  Sarah Peterson, Fr. (Hudson), Ashley Weed Sr. (Shaker Heights), and Kelley Windle So. (Worth. Kilbourne).

The Bobcats have already begun preseason preparations and will begin the 2006 campaign on Feb. 19 at Maryland.

Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops Win First Ever NCAC Title

       Ohio Wesleyan (12-3) captured its first North Coast championship with a 14-11 win over top-seeded Denison (9-4) in the finals of the NCAC Tournament at Oberlin on May 7. The Battling Bishops, who tied a school record with their eighth straight win, rolled through the NCAC Tournament with back-to-back upsets. Seeded third before the event, OWU opened the 2005 tournament with a 17-14 win over defending champion Wooster - the second seed - in the semifinals. The Big Red had advanced to the final with a 9-8 win over fourth-seeded Allegheny (8-6)  The Bishops will meet Gettysburg on Sunday, May 15, in the NCAA Regional.

All NCAC Announced.  Williams and Lamdin Named Top Players, Simmons, Newcomer of the Year.

CLEVELAND -- Ohio Wesleyan senior midfield Carrie Williams (Hingham, MA/Hingham) and Denison junior defenseman Molly Lamdin (Darien, CT/Darien) have been named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year to highlight the 2005 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse selections. Denison attack Quinn Simmons (Medina, OH/Medina) was voted Newcomer of the Year. The freshman started all 13 of the team's games and was led the Big Red in goals (30), points (35, 2.69 ppg.) and draw controls (23). She is the second straight Denison freshman to win this honor  Go to ALL NCAC 2005 for complete team.
